Basic of popular operating system (LINUX,WINDOWS)

Linux is popular operating system for PC users around the world. It Basic of popular operating system (LINUX,WINDOWS)is an independent Portable Operating System, Interface (POSI) implementation. Linux does true multitasking and includes virtual memory, shared libraries , demands loading, memory management, TCP / IP networking and other features that are available with current full featured commercial operating systems.

This operating system was initially created by Linus Torvalds, in 1991.The Linux has an official mascot, the Linux Penguin which was chosen by LINUS Torvalds. In 1994 the first version of  Linux Kernelwas (LINUX,WINDOWS) released on Internet, Linux is example of Open Source Code Operating System. It has nearby all the features operating system present in Unix Operating System. Linux also supports TCP/IP protocol and we can access local Area Network and Internet. Linux is  generally provided with two types of Graphics User Interface one is KDE and other is Gnome. Other interface are also available Command interpreter is also available...

Graphical User Interface (GUI) : Most distribution of the Linux operating system come with a windows environment called X. The Graphical User Interface X- windows environment is fully customizable and is fast. X comes with different windows managers and customizable desk top features that make it very flexible and easy to use. Some of the window managers can give a look and feel of a MS windows environment. 

The desktop area :- It is Desktop like MS Windows . You will see the following icons.

Computer :- This contains all volumes (or disks) mounted on the computer . These are also listed in the Places menu. Basic of popular operating system Computer is equivalent to My Computer on Microsoft Windows.

Home:- This is where the logged -in users stores all files by default LINUX,WINDOWS , such as music, movies, and document. there is a different home directory for each user, and by default users cannot access each others' home directories. home is equivalent to My Document on Microsoft Windows..

Trash :- In Trash, deleted files are moved . You can find Empty Trash by right - clicking the icon. Trash is equivalent to Recycle bin on Microsoft Windows . To permanently delete a file and bypass the file's move to Trash, Hold down the Shift key when deleting the file. Right - Clicking on the desktop presents a menu of actions related to the desktop area . For example, Licking on Change Desktop Background lets you choose a different image or photography to display on the desktop . It is possible to Choose not to have any desktop background ..

 

Office Project : - processor, Spreadsheet software and presentation software are application software package of Office open Suit. it  is quite similar to Microsoft office Word, Excel and Power point applications.
